Exit-intent nudge

What it does

The engagement bubble normally appears after the idle or fallback timer. With the exit-intent nudge switched on, it also appears the moment a visitor looks like they are leaving: on desktop when the mouse heads for the browser bar, on mobile on a quick scroll back to the top of the page.

Visitors who have already completed the quiz see their own version of the bubble ("Your picks are ready", for example). Clicking it reopens the quiz straight on their saved recommendations rather than starting again.

The bubble is shown at most once per visitor in a week, whichever trigger fired it, and never when the quiz is already open.

Turning it on

The setting lives with the rest of the bubble on the quiz's Styling tab, under Engagement bubble > Show when the visitor is about to leave.

1. Make sure Bubble condition is set to Display after a timer. Hiding the bubble hides every trigger, including this one.
2. Switch on Show when the visitor is about to leave.
3. Optionally fill in the Returning visitor text and Returning visitor button text. Left empty, returning visitors see the regular bubble copy.
4. Save the quiz.

The nudge is part of the optimisation add-ons and is available on affiliate and special plans. On the free plan the switch is disabled and the setting is not saved. See Organization plans.

Where it appears

The nudge fires on the pages where the quiz itself loads, which are the organization's live URLs.

To nudge visitors on pages that should not show the quiz tab, give those pages the Exit nudge only display type. A wildcard live URL such as https://yourwebsite.com/* set to that type covers the whole site, while the pages listed with their own display type keep it.
